Depression and Anxiety - Feeling depressed, low or anxious?
When problems and difficulties feel overwhelming and you feel stuck or trapped in your lives, you may also experience, anxiety, panic, depression, constant tiredness, and a sense of “what’s the point” or “what’s the meaning of life”? It can then become difficult to know what you need and what may help.
When feelings of hopelessness pervade your daily life, making the decision to consider counselling or psychotherapy can feel overwhelming in itself. If you also recognise that you have been in this place before it can feel like a big decision to try something different.
Therapy is often likened to a journey and one which you may decide to embark on as an individual or as a couple with the therapist. The therapeutic relationship allows you to explore troubling ‘feelings, thoughts and behaviours’ in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment. It maybe that you have been unable to express yourself in this way before or if you have, you may feel that others just don’t understand.
The journey of self exploration will lead to greater understanding and self awareness. It provides the opportunity to recycle and build on earlier basic skills, change unhelpful decisions about yourself and update self limiting belief systems.
